I followed the above steps and deleted a contact, however when I open QQ’s Message Manager, I noticed this deleted contact is still on the Blocked/Deleted Contacts list.

I asked another QQ user if this is normal, he said it does not sounds right, but he could not explain why.

I tried to find answer searching online, but could not find any mention of this issue, it would be awesome if someone knows this.

Most likely it’s a compatibility issue due to the version you are using. Please update it to the latest version 1.4 at http://www.imqq.com.
If the problem persists after the upgrade, please write to our customer service team at qqimail@tencent.com and include your QQ number and the QQ number you are trying to remove. They will try to help you resolve this problem.
      Thanks for choosing QQ International!

Is it normal for a deleted contact still on QQ Message Manager’s “Blocked/Deleted Contacts” list?

I deleted a contact following the above steps and later found out that this contact is still on my QQ Message Manager’s Blocked/Deleted Contacts list, so I was wondering if I did something wrong?

I have hundreds of people listed under the “Strangers” group. In the past, when I accumulated just a few, I would be forced to delete them one by one. I tried the method above to do it in contact manager, so I could delete all of them at one time. The “Strangers” group isn’t even an option in the contact manager! Is there some other way to do it? Why is the design so poor? Why can’t you just hold down SHIFT or CTRL to select multiple contacts? It’s just silly.

Hi Justin, we understand your problem, and sorry in advance: this design is made for your safety. Strangers are QQ users who you don’t know from whom you’ve received a message: you can turn off this feature, for the sake of your privacy, from the client’s Settings. The purpose of excluding “Strangers” from the Contacts Manager is that Strangers can be placed in ad-hoc contacts categories as they send you a message, or kept in the “Strangers” category and block them all whenever you want by changing your privacy settings. In alternative, if you really want to remove all of them, please go to http://id.qq.com/index.html#myfriends (in Chinese, but very easy to understand). Please understand the logic behind all this.
