It takes about a minute – you just need to make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of QQ International for your smartphone and that you can receive SMS messages/texts.
Launch QQ International, tap on “Sign Up” then “Phone Number” after you’ve agreed to our Terms of Service. Input your mobile number and then wait for a text with a numeric code. Go back to QQ International, enter the code contained in the SMS, choose a password and… done! If somehow you don’t or cannot receive texts on your cellphone you can always use your Facebook account in a similar fashion (look below).
Your QQ number (or ID) is a unique credential to access our community and use all versions of QQ International. It is associated with the email address you’ve signed up with.
Find your QQ ID in the original registration email
When you sign up with us we send you a confirmation email containing your credentials. Perform a search in your mailbox (the one you used to signup!) with the string “email@example.com” and you’ll probably find the original email we’ve sent you. Open it and you’ll find your QQ number.
Find your QQ ID in your mobile client
Tap on the “Settings” tab, then tap again on the first element to enter your profile details. Your QQ number will be there.
Find your QQ ID via QQ International for Windows
Assuming you’re already logged in on QQ International for Windows, you just need to click on your Profile Picture in the Main Panel. If your display ID is your QQ number, you should see it in your profile.
Find your QQ ID by searching through your computer
There’s a little trick you can use if you are running Windows. It’s easy and very useful particularly if you aren’t logged in to any QQ International client.
- Go to Start menu in the lower left corner on your desktop.
- On Windows 7 and Vista, enter %AppData%\Tencent\Users\ in the “Search programs and files” or “Start search” field.
- On Windows XP, select Run and enter %AppData%\Tencent\Users\
The search result contains folder(s) named after all the IDs that have ever logged in QQ from your computer.
Find your QQ ID by asking your friends
As a last resort you can ask one of your QQ contacts to find you in his/her contact list, and then double-click on it to open your profile page where your QQ ID is displayed.
You can also write to our Customer Support team (firstname.lastname@example.org) and provide the email you registered QQ International with and we can find your QQ number for you.
You can use QQ International only if you have an account. The QQ account grants you access to a whole ecosystem of services and products by Tencent. The account is offered free of charge, just make sure you abide to our Terms of Service.
Sign Up With Your Mobile
You can use your mobile phone or Facebook account: if you have downloaded QQ International for Android or iOS/iPhone then you just need to launch the app, tap on “Sign Up” in the lower part of the login screen and follow the on-screen instructions.
Sign Up On Web
Go to http://reg.imqq.com/ and make sure you follow all instructions and fill-in all forms. An activation email will be sent to the email address you provide and you will need to click on the link in the email to activate your account. Please note that the activation link is only valid for 24 hours, and that you might need to check your spam folder.
After you’ve clicked the link, a confirmation email will be sent to you. This contains your your QQ account number. It is very important that you save your QQ number even if you choose to use your email as your primary QQ credential because you will need the QQ ID to retrieve password or for solving eventual security issues.
If later on you cannot find your QQ number you simply need to perform a search on your mailbox (the one you used to signup!) with the string “email@example.com” and you’ll probably find the original email we’ve sent you.
